Location

The city Marsberg with its ca. 10.000 inhabitants has an idyllic location in the valley, surrounded by forested mountains and is considered to be the northeast door to Sauerland.

Our Hotel is situated nearby the centre, ca. 100 meter, and the Diemel riverbank, with wonderful old trees, separated by a shady sunbathing area. The entire Urban area and the Diemel footpath (along the Hotel) are flat and therefore well accessible for elderly people.

Anything you might need, like a doctor, pharmacy, hairdresser, boutiques, cinemas, bars, restaurants, indoor swimming pool and a large multi-purpose hall for cultural events, concerts and theater shows is situated nearby the hotel. Railway- and bus station are situated withing walking distance (300 meter)

Surrounding area:
Marsberg is situated approximately 29km southwards from Paderborn and 3 km (both celestial latitude) from the Hessian border in the Diemel valley. It is situated between the Briloner Höhe in the west, Sintfeld in the north, the Red Land in the east and south and the natural park Diemelsee in the southwest. Natural park Teutoburger Wald /Eggegebirge is situated to the north of Marsberg.

While the town centre is situated at a height of 255 meter (station Marsberg 249 above Normal Amsterdam Water Level), the urban area is situated between 200 and 600 m.

The history of the city takes us back to the the period of Charlemagne.

Nowadays, historic places in Obermarsberg with the Nikolai Church, the pillory and the remains of the old city wall still show the history of this remarkable city.
